Melbourne indie/rock band Jacobs Run will perform at a benefit gig for community radio station 88.3 Southern FM next month.
“It’s a great way to thank Southern FM for its support of Aussie music,” lead singer Michael Jacobs said.
The Bayside radio station has more than 200 members is on air 24 hours a day, and is growing in popularity.
Southern FM President Cameron Heyde said the station’s commitment to Australian music was a key point of difference to commercial broadcasters.
“With around 80,000 listeners every week across Bayside and Southern suburbs, our volunteers present a diverse mix of music and spoken word programs,” he said.
“We’re always keen to attract new members to enhance our program line-up”.
The Jacobs Run fundraiser will be at The Fyrefly on Inkerman Street, St Kilda, on November 1.
Guest artists Peter Freebairn and Tillerman Pete are also donating their talents in support of the radio station.
